I approach every wedding as a documentarian. I feel most of the best moments happen when you're soaking up the energy of the cocktail hour, giving your parents a final hug, excitedly waiting to see your future spouse, and obviously, having that first kiss.
Though, I'm quite happy to step in and give some direction during the photoshoot.
+ WHAT IS YOUR STYLE?
Receiving film scans back is as exciting as Christmas Day when you were a child! It usually takes 6-8 for the final edits, but the beauty of film is always worth it.
+ WHAT'S THE TURNAROUND TIME?
Super 8 is natively a silent film format (no audio is recorded), so most of my films are set to music, which lets the visual aesthetics tell the story. I love these types of films with a beautiful soundtrack! But if you'd love to hear the vows I can record those with some small lapel microphones.
+ HOW DOES AUDIO WORK?
While I'll always have a backup camera, I'll blend in like another friend at the wedding. This way I can capture you two, and your guests, without large gimbals, drones or multiple cameras.
I shoot handheld mostly, and find a simple tripod adds a great deal of elegance for the 'hero' shots.

+ HOW CAN I BOOK?
Super 8 is a film format developed in the 1960s for home movies, and I love it for its:
-genuine grain and colour
-small size (no large camera rigs)
-ability to capture how memories 'feel'
I shoot almost 100% on Super 8 film, then have the rolls developed, sent to Melbourne (to be scanned on the best scanner in Australia) and start editing the highlights.
When shooting, the camera makes a small amount of background noise, but I feel it's so iconic of a classic movie being shot during your special day.
